These are great collectors' items, as they have never been released commercially on DVD or even rebroadcast! However, please note that the quality of these episodes varies due to the original source and is usually not as good as seasons 1 - 10. If you are new to MST3K, rather than a collector, we recommend purchasing an episode from another season.
AKA: Gamera tai Shinkai kaijû Jigura
Movie Plot: Japanese monster Gamera and a parrot-fish-alien-monster from the planet Zigra fight each other. More... A moon base is destroyed by a spaceship with a cluster of gumballs on its head. Later, at Sea World, dolphins are dying mysteriously. Zigra kidnaps two men and two children (one of whom is a Coke addict - Coca-Cola that is) and starts causing earthquakes. The two six year olds somehow outwit Zigra and help their incapacitated fathers escape. The Zigra Woman, who can use her eyes to put people into comas, then chases them all over Sea World like an extended Benny Hill skit. Somewhere in this movie Gamera finally shows up, fights Zigra, who turns into a giant swordfish.

They invite him back to earth for an underwater experiment, but Joel turns them down. Segment Two: Joel is very depressed so Cambot plays messages from viewers to cheer him up. Most of the calls are about Gypsy. Segment Three: The SOL crew talk about their New Year's Resolutions. They countdown the last seconds to midnight. Segment Four: The crew reviews the movie.
Audio / Video Quality:
NOTE: The show aired late on December 31 and the countdown to the New Year was real; Midnight came at that part of the show. First speaking appearance of the Mads.
The footage of Josh Weinstein performing stand-up comedy in host segment 1 came from the "KTMA Melon Drop," a KTMA-produced New Year's Eve special starring Kevin Murphy (as news reporter "Bob Bagadonuts") which aired immediately prior to this episode of MST3K.
